Our latest news...

 12th May 2012

The SNBHC continues to be going well. Though the drought has effected the number of patients recently but no real cause for concern.  Our main concern is that the generator has, after 7 years of excellent service, had problems and it appears that a new motherboard is going to have to be fitted at a cost of £500.  Also the mortuary thermometer has had to be replaced and it is going to need a new condensor fitted, which is not surprising, as when it was fitted 7 years ago we knew it could cope with 20 bodies but nowadays we are regularly getting 30.

The situation of replacing the 4wd vehicle is that we have had an offer of £2,500 from one charity that will be released when we have the further £22,500 to pay for a new 4wd vehicle which is much needed as it is now 18years old.  We continue to pray about this need for the project and are applying for further funding from a few charities.

Dee is going out to Simbiri, Kenya on Tuesday 16th May for 3 weeks.  Thankfully we received sufficient money to complete the building and painting of the Children's Wards.  I am taking children's material for new curtains, knitted toys, blankets and some sheets.  It is Dee's desire to make the wards special for children as they do not get many special things in their lives.

There wil be some structural alterations to do before the wards can be opened in the main HC including more shower rooms for the patients.

Dr Ann Egan has so far had a very successful visit to Simbiri and been a great asset to the HC.  She has done a lot of teaching with the staff and been well received by staff and patients.  She will be leaving at the end of June.

Keith's health situation is much the same but he is seeing the consultant on 21st May to discuss what plans he has in mind for his future management of the aorta aneurysm.  Please pray for him particularly when I am away.  Thankfully Ruth is at home and that gives me more confidence. Also pray for travel to Kenya, in Kenya and back home again on 5th/6th June.

Thank you again for all your support of finance and prayer.
